Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) together with soybean (Glycine max) and oilseed rape (Brassica oleracea var.napus) is the most important oilseed crop grown in Serbia. Sunflower is the most dominant on more than 180 000 hectares, then soybean on 160 000 hectares, while areas under oilseed rape vary and cover up to 10 000 hectares.
Company KWS has been in selection business since 1856. In cooperation with Agromarket’s distributive network, sunflower hybrids in the market are Barolo RM, Barolo RO and Beluga, and oilseed rape hybrids Triangle, Traviata and Turan.

In the last few years Syngenta has entered the Serbian market with sunflower hybrids among which most famous are Arena PR, NK Dolbi, NK Delfi, NK Adagio, NK Neoma. NK Aviator and NK Smart are most important oilseed rape hybrids.
